The project "broken concert" brings together two duos that could not be more different. The duo F.la-ut, consisting of recorder and lute/theorbo, specializes in the interpretation of early Baroque and Baroque music, while the saxophone duo [uan] duo focuses primarily on contemporary works and work with commissioned compositions.
The goal of the four musician friends was to bring a program to the stage that combines these two worlds of old and new in an exciting but also coherent way.
The result is a rich music travel which, apart from all the contrasts, also aims to create space for common musical meeting points.
A centerpiece of the concert is a newly commissioned work by Oded Geizhals (*1990), written specifically for this collaboration.
The title "Broken Concert" is a play on "broken consort," a term from 16th-17th century England for ensembles mixing different instrument families. In this program, F.la-ut and [uan] not only mix instrument types but also bridge historical and contemporary musical traditions.
